9th Annual "Make It Happen" Youth Football Camp a Huge Success!

Date : June 05, 2012 5:16 PM

OCALA, FL (June 5, 2012) - For NFL Veteran and new defensive back for the Denver Broncos Drayton Florence, success is determined by impacting lives both on and off the field. Each year, the Drayton Florence Foundation hosts a free youth football camp for kids in his hometown of Ocala, Florida. On Saturday June 2nd, 150 kids and 100+ spectators showed up to participate in the annual community event.

“We had a great turn out this year,” said Florence. “The kids were pumped about the opportunity to learn new skills and techniques.”

In support of Drayton and his foundation, many current and former NFL players came out to coach and show their support. Players such as Mike Peterson, Marcus Stroud, Kawika Mitchell, Nick Barnett, Cleo Lemon, Dwan Edwards, and Cornelius Ingram all assisted in running drills during the camp and investing in the children around them.

Parents who sent feedback after the camp were thrilled with the impact it had on their children:

  • “You could see all the coaches had their heart and heads into Making It Happen. Great to see real pros put themselves out there and keeping it real.”

  • “You Guys Rock !!! My kids haven't stop talking about the camp yet ! Thank you all who made the day awesome."

  • "I’d never be able to thank you enough for your time , I couldn’t put a price tag on this event, so many great players!"

  • “Great day, great event, great man..... Drayton with the help of other NFL stars, ‘You made it Happen!’. Thank you so much for all you do for Ocala Youth! God Bless.”

For Florence, this camp was a huge success and he hopes to make it even bigger for his 10th annual camp to be held in summer, 2013.
