Welcome to my Drayton Florence Foundation website where you can read all about me and learn about my foundation which is so important to me.
A little bit about me:
After playing eleven (11) seasons in the National Football League, I now live in Jacksonville, Florida not far from Ocala where I was born and raised. My college football career began at Tennessee– Chattanooga and ended at Tuskegee University (the Golden Tigers), and it was during my college years that my path began to make my lifelong dream come true. As a four-year starter playing in 44 games, I collected 161 tackles (116 solos) with ten stops behind the line of scrimmage, 13 interceptions for 258 yards in returns, 32 pass deflections and three fumble recoveries. My three touchdowns on interception returns set a school career-records for the Golden Tigers.
Now earning veteran status in the NFL, I’ve never forgotten where I’ve come from, always being humble and respectful to others, displaying the values that my parents have instilled in me. I’m often asked why I started my foundation and why I give back. I give because I know how it feels to go without. I am now blessed to be in a position to impact and help others, giving back what so many others have given to me over the years. Giving back provides me a feeling of wholeness and gives real purpose to my life.
For all those who have encouraged me, I personally want to thank you for your support. For those of you just learning about me and my foundation, welcome!
